UBE CREATES UDA (UBE DEVELOPMENT AMERICA), A DEPARTMENT THAT WILL OFFER TECHNICAL SUPPORT

The two main areas of work will be a Technical Center and partnerships with North American universities and research institutes

May 2018 To better understand and fulfill the needs of customers in North America, UBE, world leader in polyamide and copolyamide, created a new area in the local office. The UDA – UBE Development America is a new department, focused on two main activities: the creation of a Technical Center and partnerships with local trade associations, other research centers and universities.

According to Sergi Salvá, responsible for UDA, the Technical Center will offer many services, but specially the lab that will allow clients to make tests, locally and faster. “Basically we intend to increase customers´ developments and to adapt UBE´s products to the USA market.” The four pillars of UDA will be: Promote, Collaborate, R&D and Service. The Service area will act, improving logistics and making sales quicker, as well as offering quicker technical services.

Sergi points as the main Promotion tools, under the umbrella of UDA, the organization of conferences – like the Change & Challenge – and participation in trade shows; articles in trade magazines and posts in social media; and participation in trade associations. “We will also get closer and form partnerships with machine and resin producers, local universities and research centers”, completes.  In this sense, a collaboration project started with the prestigious School Of Packaging of Michigan State University (MSU).
